Hi, I’m Pooja!
I am an artist currently residing in Mumbai, India, my creative career spans over 20 years. I have explored various opportunities within the Art, Fashion and Textile spectrum in New York City and Mumbai where I have spent the past two decades of my career.
My creative energy is best funnelled through travel and indulging in one of a kind experiences, which directly translate onto my canvas.
What inspires me
We find ourselves in a world today, where intelligence is artificial, and art is being re-introduced as a digitised, non-fungible token. Digital art experiences have made their own space, but I want my art to be a medium to preserve the memory of our ‘real’ experiences. Representing fragments of our memory, I adopt a symmetrical grid format, where a single concept is split over multiple small canvases, making an impactful composition when installed together. Imagine an exotic landscape, or an emotional expression, spilling over multiple surfaces – giving each canvas its own candy like appeal, but creating immense drama when installed as a collective on a wall.
Individually each canvas is a pretty little piece, but all together they complete the narrative, and secure that precious experience, as an artwork to cherish forever. ‘Candied Art’ is in the making, and they are so addictive, you’ll want them all.
